The Youth for a United World commit themselves in their daily lives, where they live, study or work to meet the needs of single persons and groups putting into action activities in the social, cultural, sports and mass media fields. Their characteristic is a continuous and strong local commitment and they aim at creating everywhere “fragments of fraternity” to reach a united world and peace.

“Universal fraternity is very important. We should have it as the objective of the Youth for a United World. We must relate with everybody as equals: the street children, the poor, the old people. These activities that we carry out as Youth for a United World are FRAGMENTS OF FRATERNITY. Fragments because, perhaps, it is just one home for the aged, or just a kindergarten or a school. The objective is to create fragments of fraternity through all the means that love suggests. This is the new name that we give to all these activities, so as to make everybody feel equal.”
Chiara Lubich

Fragments of fraternity are under way in the whole world so as to produce a culture of communion, interdependence, love among different peoples, races and cultures.
